ARJUNA TEMPLE COMPLEX
Go there and contact
The five temples forming the complex were built in the early th century, culminating in the Hindu culture in Java, and rediscovered thousand years later. Most of the statues that previously adorned the temples have disappeared; sometimes we find ourselves in the region, the objects of theft and looting. This complex is much more modest than Prambanan or Borobudur: don't expect wonders. Five times a day, these Hindu temples seem lost, surrounded by calls for prayer emanating from the mosques of the surrounding villages. According to some, the site would have been transformed into a lake for several centuries due to the intense volcanic activity of the region; hence their surprising presence in this Muslim area. The name itself is unrelated to these temples, which we do not know if they were built to honour Shiva, Brahma or Vishnou. Arjuna is one of the five heroes of:: the most beautiful of all. Young men from the corner who want to marry come here sometimes, hoping to find fortune in love. Strange syncretism in these Muslim piles!
