BONNSTAN AND LANDSFÖRSKYRKA
Superb remains of the tradition of the "churches" of this northern region; Bonnstan actually means'city of peasants '. As in Luleå, parishioners built from the th century wooden huts near the church so that they could spend the night after the religious festivals and weekend evenings. The village burned but rebuilt and today most houses are over 150 years old. The particularity of these rangées, rustic rows of dark buildings is that never has they been connected to electricity or running water. They are all owned by individuals who, during the summer and some holidays, live here a few days, bringing these habitats back to life. With a little luck, you will find a door open and gently ask, it is possible to look inside. A scent of another time floats in these pieces of variable size. At the time of the first establishment of this village, the level of the river was certainly higher, just a few metres from the houses, whose natural colour of wood is scrupulously preserved to avoid any eccentricity that would damage the beauty of the site.
Further afield, the Landsför church has its copper bell and white walls to the sky. The Madone de Skelleftea, the th century Romanesque wooden sculpture, is behind the altar. A beautiful organ and interesting recount due to white crépi covering the entire surface of the walls.
