In this part of the National Gallery is the art collection from countries outside Europe. The ground floor is dedicated to Japanese art. On the second floor are Chinese, Hindu, Tibetan, South Asian and Islamic art. All this is surrounded by the magnificent architectural setting of the former convent founded in the 13th century. It was rebuilt in the early 18th century in a style that blends Baroque and Gothic elements to recall its origins.
