The Viking Winter Festival where traditional Viking food is eaten, danced in honour of the Northern King Þor
Behind this title, a festival in honour of the Nordic King Þor. During this event, some restaurants offer "Viking" meals specially designed for the occasion (Þorramatur). Boiled sheep's head, marinated ram's testicles, pheasant shark... You have to have a strong stomach to revel! Although based on a medieval saga recounting the existence of an annual sacrifice, the modern version of this festival, where dance, song and agape are mixed, dates back to the 19th century and became truly popular in the second half of the last century.
