In harmony with nature, the hotel is surrounded by majestic mountains. Opened in June 2016, the Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon is a four star hotel located in Hnappavellir, a popular climbing area. The location is perfect for nature lovers, because it is just between Skaftafell and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, two of Iceland's most spectacular natural attractions; a paradise for hikers. The hotel restaurant can also be a good stopover for lunch.

The staff here needs work. Front desk staff took forever to check us in. There were two employees at the desk, only one of which had a customer. The second did his absolute best not to make eye contact with us. We waited at least 10 minutes to talk to someone. Restaurant staff was hit or miss. Bar staff was great. Restaurant staff seemed very unorganized and had a hard time keeping up with dinner.
The breakfast buffet is a disaster. The way they have it configured is WAY too small for the amount of people staying there. Be prepared to throw some elbows at breakfast time with both customers and staff.
Positif : chambres modernes, personnel féminin toujours sympathique, bonne nourriture
Conclusion : nous ne reviendrons pas.
Cordialement
