When to go Tyrol ?
The Tyrol has different attractions depending on the season: in winter, the mountains are covered in powder snow to delight the eyes and the senses with snowshoeing and all kinds of skiing. In summer, the alpine meadows are covered with carpets of alpine flowers and there are many paths to take for a picnic by a lake. Events also flourish and each season is an opportunity to discover local culture and art.
The Austrian climate is generally alpine. In the north, the climate is continental and alpine, while in the east, the flatter terrain results in a pannonic climate (typical of the Hungarian plain). The average annual temperature in the whole country is 8°C. In Vienna, the temperature can drop to -15°C in autumn and winter and rise to 30°C in summer. Tyrol has a warm, temperate climate with relatively frequent rainfall. At higher altitudes, the winters are harsh.
