Day 1: Arrival in Bucharest

When you arrive in Bucharest, allow yourself a day to visit the capital's main monuments. Take the time to discover the atmosphere of a city that is both surprising and unpredictable. Stroll along Calea Victorei to see the charm of the Cantacuzino Palace and historic residences in a variety of styles and influences.
Along this "street of Victory", stop for a moment around Piaţa Revoluţiei to see the National Museum of Art and the Romanian Athenaeum. Then stroll along the Lipscani district to discover the Stavropoleos church and the Hanul lui Manuc inn, the only caravanserai still visible in Bucharest. For an insight into the diversity of the country's rural habitat, head for the Romanian Peasant Museum, a magnificent illustration. And don't miss the impressive and controversial Palace of Parliament, the second largest monument in the world after the Pentagon in Washington.

Day 2: The Carpathians
En route to the Carpathians and the Prahova Valley to the prestigious resort of Sinaia. Stroll around the city, from the central park to Peleş Castle, one of the country's landmarks. Possible excursions to the Bucegi Mountains, a hiker's paradise.

Day 3: Braşov
Discovery of Braşov, its historical center, its colorful streets, passing by its numerous churches that line the route. Meal on Piaţa Sfatului or in its medieval quarter to appreciate the elegance of its inner courtyards and flowered balconies. Panoramic view of the old town from the top of Mount Tâmpa or excursion to the villages of Prejmer or Hărman, gems of Transylvanian architecture.
Day 4: Transylvania

In the heart of Transylvania, along a particularly pleasant road, choose to stop in villages with fortresses and fortified churches on the way to the medieval city of Sighişoara. As you wind your way through the town's winding streets, discover the atmosphere and scenery of an exceptional site.
Day 5: Sibiu

For this day, make a stopover in Sibiu, one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Brimming with activities and named European Cultural Capital in 2007, this city will delight art and history lovers. In the centre of the city, note the almost intimate character of Piaţa Mică and Piaţa Mare, which contain a collection of colourful buildings of interest such as the Brukenthal Palace or the Casa Artelor.
Day 6: Mărginimea Sibiului
Steps: Sibiu
South and west of Sibiu, discover the beautiful shepherd villages of Mărginimea Sibiului. A privileged place for rural tourism, it is a real enchantment to discover these colorful villages around foothill landscapes. Do not deprive yourself to discover the daily life of its inhabitants.
Day 7: Back
Return to Bucharest via the many monasteries and spas of the Olt valley.
