How to get there - Port Of Spain

Day 1

Steps: Port Of Spain

Start by discovering Port of Spain: visit Downtown and its museums, the famous Savannah Park and dine at Woodbrook.

Day 2

Plage de Maracas Bay.

Steps: Chaguaramas

Take a drive to the Chaguaramas Peninsula to walk through the bamboo forest.

Day 3

Steps: Maracas Bay

Head for the marvellous beach of Maracas Bay (20 km from the capital) where you can stop for lunch with the local specialty, bake & shark , before continuing on to the wild coast.

Day 4

Steps: Blanchisseuse

Continue to Blanchisseuse via Las Cuevas, a fishing village lost in the middle of the rainforest, and stay overnight to soak up the atmosphere.

Day 5

Day 5

Feel free to go hiking in the area with the nearby Asa Wright Nature Center.

Day 6

Steps: San Souci

Return by car to Arima and head for the other north coast of the island: Matelot, Sans-Souci and Grande Rivière, where we recommend you spend 3 days to appreciate the beauty of the island and watch leatherback turtles on the beach every night.

Day 7

Steps: San Souci

After Matelot, it's off to Sans-Souci for a similar program of idleness and turtle-watching.

Day 8

Steps: Grande Riviere

After Sans-Souci, direction Grande Rivière to complete these three days of idleness and turtles.

Day 10

Steps: San Fernando

Explore the west and south of the island: spend an afternoon in Waterloo before visiting the Caroni marshes at dusk and heading out to San Fernando. Sleep in or near the city.

Day 11

Pigeon Point.

Steps: La Brea

Visit Pitch Lake before taking a short hike to one of the many mud volcanoes. Return to the airport to fly to Tobago.

Day 12

Steps: Crown Point

Arrive at Crown Point. Enjoy Pigeon Point beach, the most beautiful on the island. Go out to restaurants and lively bars in town at night.

Day 13

Steps: Crown Point

Still on Pigeon Point beach, take a small boat to snorkel on the coral reef and dive in the Nylon pool at the center.

Day 14

Steps: Mount Irvine

Discovery of the Tobago coast from Mount Irvine, a young spot frequented by surfers.

Day 15

Fort King George.

Steps: Mount Irvine

Drive to Plymouth, a small isolated village near the beach where leatherback turtles come to lay their eggs in Tobago. Between Mount Irvine and Plymouth, you will find a succession of resorts and nice beaches to rest.

Day 16

Steps: Scarborough

Rendezvous in Scarborough for a tour of the town.

Day 17

Steps: Charlotteville

Head for Speyside or Charlotteville along the north coast. These two isolated towns at the tip of the island are renowned for their diving clubs.

Day 17

Day 18

Englishman's Bay.

Another day in this corner of the island to enjoy the beauty of the seabed.

Day 19

Pêcheur dans la baie de Castara.

Steps: Castara

Make the most of your last few days of vacation and indulge in a little idleness on the wild beaches of the north of the island, in the picturesque fishing village of Castara.
