From Hanoi to the May Chau Valley
Steps: Mai Châu
Arrival in Hanoi and transfer to Mai Hich, a small village of Thai ethnicity, isolated in the May Chau valley, 140 km southwest of the capital. On foot or by bike, discover this haven of peace, in a magnificent landscape of rice fields and karst reliefs. Night in a traditional house on pilings.
Hiking in the Vietnamese countryside
Steps: Pu Luong
Wake up to the crowing of the rooster. Morning hike, country strolls to the rhythm of peasant life. From Mai Hich, we head for the Pu Long nature reserve, some 30 km away. This is an opportunity to explore an unspoilt environment, a horizon of terraced rice fields, forested slopes and cascading waterfalls and streams. Overnight in a traditional Thai or Muong house.

Hạ Long Bay on land
Steps: Tam Côc
The journey continues, with a transfer to Tam Coc, in "terrestrial Hạ Long Bay", some 150 km from Pu Luong Reserve, around 4 hours' drive. Visit the temples of Hoa Lu, former capital of the Đại Việt in the 10th century. Overnight in a charming hotel in the very heart of this exceptional natural site, listed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2015.
Sea cruise
Early departure for arrival in Hạ Long around 11:30 am. Boarding for a 2-day cruise (one night on board).
Back to Hanoi
End of cruise and return to Hanoi in the late afternoon. Performance at the Water Puppet Theater and dinner in the Old Quarter.
