How to get there - Saint-Leu
Arrival Saint-Denis and first sea bath
Arrival in Saint-Denis, transfer to a hotel on the west coast. Free day, sunbathing, beach and relaxation. Aperitif, sunset, followed by a Creole meal in a waterfront restaurant at the Hermitage.
Underwater exploration
Steps: Saint-Leu
Beach day and sports activities: diving, water-skiing, deep-sea fishing, paragliding in Saint-Leu, whale watching (in season) or dolphin watching (all year round), catamaran rides, bubble boat rides... In the evening, dinner at the water's edge.
Exploration of the West
Steps: Le Port
Car rental and exploration of the West. Departure early in the morning towards the viewpoint of Maïdo. Swimming in the basins of Saint Gilles. Visit of Musée de Villèle, Jardin d'Eden or the Aquarium. Walk on the port of Saint Gilles late in the afternoon.

Crossing Grand Brûlé
Steps: Sainte-Rose
Departure to Saint Pierre with lunch on the marina. Walk in the streets of the city, visit of temples, and then by car in the Sud Sauvage, on the spice route. Swimming in the basin of Manapany. Crossing Grand Brûlé. Overnight in Sainte-Rose or in the south.
On the volcano road
Steps: Grand Bassin
Departure early in the morning towards Plaine-des-Cafres, then on the road to the volcano. Photos from Pas de Bellecombe for the lazy, descending to Formica Léo for the reasonable, climbing to the volcano for those who love sports. Overnight in guest room and meals as a table d'hôtes in the Plains region. Or walk of Grand-Bassin and overnight in a cottage in the bottom of the river.
In the forest of Bélouve
Steps: Hell Bourg
Nature and hiking day. Visit of the forest of Bélouve and Trou du Fer, then descending to the village of Hell-Bourg or that of Salazie. Visit of the village and and the cirque.

Departure from Salazie to Mafate by the Fourche pass. Bus ride to the pass, then descent on foot and night in the middle of nature, in Marla (2 hours 30 of walk) or in La Nouvelle (3 hours of walk). Night in a mountain lodge.
In the middle of the circus...
Steps: Cilaos
Departure from Mafate to Cilaos by the Taïbit pass, 3 hours walk. Transfer by bus to the village of Cilaos, visit of the village and the craftsmen, purchase of local products. Night in Cilaos or descent to the coast. The most courageous will tackle the Piton des Neiges at the same time, and during the night.

A day in Cilaos, a short hike (Bras-Rouge, Trois-Sources) or strong sensations like canyoning or climbing. In the evening, copious and invigorating table d'hôte of duck-stew-with-lentils type to recover from your travels.
Leaving for Mauritius

Then leaving for Mauritius by plane (from €159 to €300 A/R) from Saint-Denis or Saint-Pierre, or from the Port by boat (about €200). For Mayotte, only departure from Saint-Denis (about €300).
