In a bucolic and green land

In the Mafate circus

After breakfast, departure for a 4.5 hour hike through the canyons and waterfalls of the fantastic Mafate circus, accessible only on foot or by helicopter. This haven of peace and beauty was originally inhabited by escaped slaves, impossible to find here. Transfer to the Col des Boeufs, descent to La Nouvelle and then crossing rivers, canyon and waterfall that invite you to swim. Dinner and overnight stay in a gîte
Circus of Cilaos

For the 3 hours of hiking of the day, the beginning will be the crossing of the Taïbit pass (2,082 m) which gives a breathtaking view of the upper part of the Mafate circus. We can already see the cirque of Cilaos surrounded by huge cliffs called "ramparts" whose peaks dominate the island: the Piton des Neiges (3,070 m), the Gros Morne (2,991 m) and the Grand Bénare (2,896 m). Rest then descent to the sunniest and driest of the three circuses, Cilaos (1,200 m)
Plaine des Cafres
Steps: Saint-Pierre
Early departure for 4 hours of hiking to the Bras Rouge waterfall or the plateau des Chênes. Picnic lunch along the way then descent to the coast by local bus by the famous road cut into the cliff. Visit of the Saint-Pierre waterfront before going up to the high plateaus

The Piton de la Fournaise, the volcano that smokes
Steps: Piton De La Fournaise
Transfer to the active volcano of the Piton de la Fournaise (2,632 m). Discovery off the beaten track of the three calderas: rivière des Remparts, plaine des Sables and the Fouqué enclosure, a 150-metre-deep calderra with the piton de la Fournaise in the centre. Picnic lunch along the way. You will walk around the craters through piles of more or less recent lava flows. Lunar landscapes
Beluga Forest
Start your 4-hour hike in the heart of the lush Bélouve rainforest. An astonishing endemic forest where ferns are cheerfully over two metres high. This very beautiful stroll will allow you to have a breathtaking view of the abyss of the Trou de Fer, a 300 m waterfall. Picnic lunch along the way. Return to the cottage at the end of the afternoon.
The Wild South
Direction the wild southern region to discover the lava flows, the Vacoa forests and the often raging sea breaking on the superb cliffs of solidified lava. Lunch along the way. Then transfer in the middle of the afternoon to the lagoon of Saint-Gilles.
Stay in the lagoon of Saint-Gilles
