The colonial city

Catedral Santa Maria la Menor Primada de America.

Steps: Santo Domingo

Arrival in Santo Domingo, which concentrates most of the country's cultural heritage. The colonial city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, contains numerous testimonies of Spanish colonization, including religious or civilian buildings now magnificently restored. The morning is devoted to the visit of the Colón de Colón, the former residence of Diego Colón converted into a fascinating museum, and to the Casa de Nicolas de Ovando's Casa de Nicolas in which a well-deserved break in its shady patio can be achieved. In the afternoon, leave the dévouverte of the Joyau jewel: The Cathedral Santa María the menor primada of América. Built between 1514 and 1540, it is the oldest cathedral in the Americas. To finish the day, sit on the terrace in a Parque Colón café to the sounds of latino rhythms of street musicians.
