How to get there - Parque Nacional Del Este

Day 1: Scuba diving

Plage tropicale et cocotiers, Punta Cana.

Steps: Parque Nacional Del Este

The Dominican Republic may not be as famous as some of its neighbors for its seabed, but it does offer some great opportunities for discovery and adventure. Just before Punta Cana, the Bayahibe area and of Parque Nacional Del Este are undoubtedly some of the best spots in the country for spotting parrotfish and sea turtles.

Day 2: Golf

Plage de Cabarete.

Steps: Punta Cana

If you want to work on your swing or putt, the greens around Punta Cana are perfect for you. And if you really want to get away from the seaside resort, other courses await you, notably in the vicinity of the beautiful city of Santo Domingo. A golfer's paradise!

Day 3: Kitesurfing and windsurfing

Steps: Cabarete

Cabarete, with its kitesurfing and windsurfing spots, is the ideal destination for champions of water sports. Benefiting from strong winds and waves that are sometimes impressive, Cabarete is ranked among the world's top ten spots for both disciplines.

Day 4

Day 4: Quad biking, tennis or wakeboarding?

Vallée du Tetero à Jarabacoa.

In Cabarete, while you're waiting for the wind to pick up in the morning, sport is still on the agenda, and there are plenty of options. For sea fanatics, wakeboarding and water skiing are on the menu, while others can let off steam on horseback, quad bikes, mountain bikes or a tennis court.

Day 5: Rafting or canyoning?

Steps: Jarabacoa

For those who want to combine extreme sport with ecotourism, the ideal destination is in the central part of the country, around the province of Jarabacoa. The Dominican Republic's rafting mecca is located on the rio Yaque del Norte, the largest in the Caribbean. Less fast, but just as spectacular, try canyoning down the Rio Jimenoa.

Day 6

Day 6: Mountain biking and climbing

Pico Duarte.

Landlubbers can speed down the steep slopes of Salto Baiguate or Salto Jimenoa on mountain bikes. Thrill-seekers can also practice their skills on the extremely slippery walls between the waterfalls. Of course, caution is always advised.
