From Kigali to the Nyungwe forest
Steps: Kigali
Departure from Kigali around 7:30, drive to Butare...lunch en route, then transfer to Nyungwe forest park. Arrival in the afternoon for the canopy walk. This walkway is built on the Igishigigi trail and is located one kilometer from Uwinka. It leads to a 200m trail, suspended between giant trees. It offers a magnificent view of the upper canopy and is also a very good bird watching area. Then transfer to Ken Barham Guest House for the night.
Chimpanzee trekking and relaxation
Steps: Kibuye Karongi
After a very early breakfast (departure at 5am) to join the forest of Cyamudongo located at 2000 meters of altitude, for the meeting of the chimpanzees. You will follow them according to their location in the trees and depending on their location you will have to walk from 3 to 7 hours. Lunch at the Guest house, then in the afternoon visit the tea factory of Gisakura and transfer to Kibuye.
Relaxation in Kibuye then return to Kigali in the evening
Steps: Kibuye Karongi
Boat trip on Lake Kivu around 8am (visit of Napoleon Island), then drive to Kigali...lunch en route to arrive around 4pm in Kigali and transfer to the international airport.
