Journey to the Sahara
Day 01: Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Vallée des Roses - Gorges du Dadès.
Departure from Marrakech via the High Atlas, passing the Tizi n'Tichka (alt 2260 m). On the way you'll visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and later continue on to Ouarzazate then the route des Mille-Kasbahs passing through Skoura where you'll stop to see a beautiful Kasbah called Amredhyle. Then continue on to Kelaat M'gouna the capital of the Roses. In the afternoon, you'll arrive at the Dades Gorges. Overnight at a hotel in the Dades Valley.
Day 02: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga.
After breakfast, you'll continue the drive through the Dades Valley towards the Todra Gorge, lunching at the right spot, then continuing on to Merzouga through the palm trees of Jorf and the town of Erfoud, where you'll visit the marble fossil production workshop. Arrive at the impressive Merzouga dunes in the late afternoon. Overnight in a Riad.
Day 03: Dune tour and exploration of the Merzouga region:
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll begin exploring the Merzouga region by visiting the village of Khamlia, then the Mifis mines and the nomadic families living between the dunes and the Algerian border before returning to the hotel where you'll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before your camel ride, guided by an experienced camel driver to explore Merzouga's sea of golden sand. Dinner at your overnight bivouac (BDB).
Day 04: Merzouga - Rissani-Alnif-Tazarine - Draa Valley - Agdez - Ouarzazate.
Wake up too early for an exceptional sunrise and camel ride back to the village, where you meet your driver. Departure for the Palmeraie de Tafilalet and the town of Rissani (origin of the Alaouite dynasty and former capital of the Alaouite Sultans), from there to the village of Alnif, where we take the road that crosses the Anti-Atlas chain from Jbel Saghro to the grey-black mountains with their remarkable shapes, passing through the main Berber village of Tazarine and N'kob, and on to the Drâa valley with its procession of palm trees. Late afternoon drive to Ouarzazate via the Anti-Atlas and the Tizi n Tnifift at 1660 m. Overnight in a Riad/Kasbah in Ouarzazate.
Day 05: Ouarzazate - Marrakech.
After breakfast, visit the Taourirt Kasbah and film studios, then depart for Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains.
