Arrival in Khare
Today is your first day of the Mera Peak climbing trip from Khare. Today our guide will meet you in Khare, we'll give you the name of the meeting point and the time of our pre-trip meeting at the Kathmandu office. After meeting our climbing guide, he'll check all your climbing gear and if you don't have enough, he'll suggest you rent it from our store in Khare. Then he'll give you a short training course in climbing techniques.
Khare-High Camp (5-6 hours' walk)
After breakfast, start the hike with a climbing guide. The hike to Mera base camp from Khare is an easy one on foot, taking about 2 hours. Most climbers don't stay at base camp, as the walk to base camp from Khare is very short and easy.
High camp - Pic Mera, return to Khare (8-9 hours' walk)
On the third day, we continue our journey towards the High Camp, situated at an altitude of 5,750 metres. The journey to High Camp won't be that long; it will only take around 4 to 5 hours. While we camp there for the rest of our stay, we'll be surrounded by breathtaking views of Mount Makalu, Mount Cho Oyu, Mount Everest and a few other spectacular Himalayan peaks.
Return of Khare
On the fourth day, which is also the last and most eagerly-awaited day of the climb, we'll start early in the morning with the summit of Mera Peak, situated at 6,476 metres above sea level. To do this, we'll be using all the training and practice we've studied in mountaineering. After reaching our destination, the summit of Mera Peak, we'll enjoy the moment for a while and return to Khare. In the evening, we'll have dinner together and finish the hike.
