Ascent of Pic Lobuche - 12 Days

Lobuche Peak is located in the Sagarmatha area, in the Solukhumbu district, close to the Khumbu glacier and in the village of Lobuche. It lies at an altitude of 6119 m. There are 2 main peaks in Lobuche, Lobuche East and Lobuche West.

According to the National Mountaineering Association of Nepal, Lobuche East is classified as Trekking Peak and Lobuche West as Expedition Peak. These two peaks are separated by a long, deep ridge. There is a considerable distance between them, making it impossible to approach the West Peak from the East.

Detail of the stay : Ascent of Pic Lobuche - 12 Days - 12 days

Day 1

Day 1- Kathmandu-Lukla- Phakding (35-minute flight, 3-hour hike)

You take off from Kathmandu airport for a 35-minute flight to Lukla, a small town in the Everest region.

From Lukla, you begin a 3-hour hike to Phakding, passing through picturesque landscapes and local villages. Phakding is situated at a lower altitude than Lukla, allowing a smooth transition to higher altitudes.

Day 2

Day 2- Phakding-Namche bazaar (5-6 hours' walk)

After breakfast in Phakding, you start your 5-6 hour trek to Namche Bazar, the largest town in the Khumbu region.

The trail winds along the Dudh Koshi river and crosses several suspension bridges.

Namche Bazar is at a higher altitude than Phakding, so you'll start to feel the effects of altitude at this point.

Day 3

Day 3- Namche Bazar-Phortse (5-6 hours' walk)

You leave Namche Bazar and set off on a 5-6 hour walk to Phortse, a charming Sherpa village less frequented by tourists than Namche.

The trail offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, including Ama Dablam.

Day 4

Day 4- Phortse-Dingboche (6-hour walk)

Today, you continue your ascent towards Dingboche, a village nestled in the Khumbu valley.

The walk takes around 6 hours and takes you to a higher altitude, requiring gradual acclimatization.

Day 5

Day 5- Dingboche-Lobuche (6-hour hike)

You leave Dingboche for another 6-hour trek to Lobuche.

The landscape starts to get rockier and more alpine as you approach Everest.

Day 6

Day 6- Lobuche-Gorakshep-Everest base camp (8-hour hike)

Today is a major day as you reach Everest Base Camp.

You hike for about 8 hours from Lobuche to Gorakshep, then continue to Everest Base Camp.

Surrounded by the majestic Himalayas, you'll feel the grandeur of this mythical place.

Day 7

Day 7- Everest Base Camp-Lobuche Base Camp (5-hour hike)

Turn around and head back to Lobuche, a 5-hour walk.

This gives you a chance to revisit some of the sites you passed along the way.

Day 8

Day 8- Lobuche base camp-summit climb, return to base camp (9-10 hour hike)

Today is the day you attempt the ascent to the summit of Lobuche, an ascent that can take 9 to 10 hours.

After reaching the summit, you return to base camp to rest and celebrate your achievement.

Day 9

Day 9- Base camp-Pheriche (6-hour walk)

You descend from Lobuche to Pheriche, a 6-hour walk.

Pheriche is a quiet mountain village offering a well-deserved break after the climb.

Day 10

Day 10- Pheriche-Namche Bazar (6-hour walk)

You begin your descent to Namche Bazar, a 6-hour walk.

Enjoy the lively atmosphere of Namche Bazar for your last night in the mountains.

Day 11

Day 11- Namche Bazar- Lukla (7-hour walk)

You finish your trek by returning to Lukla, a walk of around 7 hours.

This is your last day of trekking before catching your flight back to Kathmandu.

Day 12

Jour 12- Lukla-Katmandou (35 minutes de vol)

You take a 35-minute return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.

This is the end of your incredible trekking adventure in the Everest region.
