Pisang Peak ascent - 13 days

Pisang Peak is one of the most popular peaks. It is located in the northern part of Nepal, in the Annapurna region, in the Manang district. Pisang Peak rises to 6,091 m and resembles a pyramid of ice and snow.

The summit was first climbed by a German expedition in 1955. The trail along the ascent is beautifully decorated with cultural villages and holy places, including Muktinath. In addition, you come across one of the highest passes, called Thorong La Pass.

Day 1

Kathmandu-Syangje (6-7 hours drive)

Depart Kathmandu and drive to Syangje, which takes around 6-7 hours.

Enjoy the journey, admiring the Nepalese scenery along the way.

Settle in Syangje for the night.

Day 2

Syangje to Dharapani (5-6 hours' walk)

Start your trek from Syangje to Dharapani, a 5-6 hour walk.

Pass through traditional villages, rivers and rhododendron forests.

Arrive in Dharapani and settle in for the night.

Day 3

Dharapani to Chame (6-7 hours' walk)

Continue your trek from Dharapani to Chame, which takes around 6-7 hours.

The route offers spectacular views of mountains and valleys.

Arrive in Chame and settle in for the night.

Day 4

Chame to Upper Pisang (5-6 hours' walk)

Depart from Chame and walk to Upper Pisang, a stage lasting around 5-6 hours.

Along the way, admire alpine scenery and picturesque villages.

Arrive at Upper Pisang and settle in for the night.

Day 5

High Pisang base camp at Pisang Peak (3-4 hours' walk)

Today, you'll hike from the base camp of Upper Pisang to the summit of Pisang Peak, which takes around 3 to 4 hours.

Get ready for the climb and enjoy the panoramic views from the summit.

Return to base camp for the night.

Day 6

Pisang Peak base camp to Pisang Peak high camp (3-4 hours' walk)

Move from Pisang Peak base camp to high camp, a walk of around 3 to 4 hours.

Prepare yourself mentally and physically for the next day's ascent.

Spend the night at high camp.

Day 7

Pisang Peak high camp - Climb to the summit, return to base camp (8-9 hours' walk)

Today is the day of the ascent to the summit of Pisang Peak, which takes around 8 to 9 hours.

Enjoy the unique mountaineering experience and savor the sense of accomplishment once at the summit.

Return to base camp for the night.

Day 8

Base camp - Manang Valley (5-6 hours' walk)

Descend from the Pisang valley to the Manang valley, a walk of around 5 to 6 hours.

Enjoy the changing landscapes and magnificent views along the way.

Settle in for the night in the Manang valley.

Day 9

Manang Valley to Yak Kharka (4-5 hours' walk)

Start from the Manang valley and walk to Yak Kharka, which takes around 4-5 hours.

Admire the alpine scenery along the way and take time to acclimatize to the altitude.

Settle in for the night at Yak Kharka.

Day 10

Yak Kharka to Thorang Phedi (3-4 hours' walk)

Continue your descent to Thorang Phedi, a stage that takes around 3 to 4 hours.

Prepare yourself mentally and physically for the climb to Thorang La pass the following day.

Settle in for the night at Thorang Phedi.

Day 11

Thorang Phedi to Muktinath (8-9 hours' walk)

Today is the day for the ascent of the Thorang La pass, followed by the descent to Muktinath, which takes around 8-9 hours.

This is one of the most demanding days of your trek, but the views from the pass are well worth the effort.

Arrive in Muktinath and settle in for the night.

Day 12

Muktinath to Jomsom (5-6 hours' walk)

Descend from Muktinath to Jomsom, a walk of around 5 to 6 hours.

Enjoy the descent through varied landscapes and traditional villages.

Overnight in Jomsom.

Day 13

In the morning, take a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, a short flight of around 25 minutes.

In Pokhara, take a few hours to relax and explore this charming lake town.

Then fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu, a flight of around 30 minutes.

On arrival in Kathmandu, you can relax after your strenuous trek and enjoy your return to civilization.
