Detail of the stay : 2-DAY SAFARI AT MIKUMI FYING - 2 days
From Zanzibar to Mikumi - Game viewing and cultural visit to Masai Boma
Steps: Mikumi
In the morning, you'll begin your Zanzibar safari, flying in a light aircraft to Mikumi. On arrival at Kikoboga airstrip, you'll be met by our driver guide for greetings and a briefing on your day trip program.
You'll start straight away on a safari in Mikumi's richest and best-loved part, the Mkata floodplains. This plain is renowned for its concentrations, abundance and excellent wildlife sightings. Ideally home to large herds of elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hyena, leopard and lion.
At midday, you'll take a lunch break, during which you'll be served a hot meal; then you'll continue your journey to discover the Mikumi. Later, you'll leave the park to visit the Masai Boma. You'll learn about their way of life, enrich your knowledge and enjoy the entertainment offered by the Masai community who have migrated from the northern part of Tanzania; then you'll return to camp to relax, dine and spend the night.
Mikumi Safari - Departure for Zanzibar
Steps: Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, you're off for a full day of park viewing, visiting different areas. The park has a fashionable centerpiece, the "Mkata floodplains", which are often compared to the more famous Serengeti plains. You can spot lions guarding their grassy realm and herds of zebra, wildebeest, impala and buffalo migrating across these plains from the flattened tops of termite mounds or, sometimes, during the rains, from tree-top perches.
At midday, you'll stop for a hot lunch, then continue your journey by exploring Mikumi's centerpiece, the famous hippo pool, where wild animals, including elephants and lions, come to drink.
Later, you'll make your way to the airstrip to catch your flight back to Zanzibar, after an unforgettable day's excursion.
