Zanzibar to Selous - Game viewing and sunset boat safari
In the morning, you'll begin your Zanzibar safari, flying by light aircraft to Selous, one of Africa's most important game reserves. On arrival at the Beho Beho airstrip, you'll be met by our driver-guide, who will greet you and explain the program of your trip.
Game drives are the best way to explore other giant animals, including predators. What's more, the Selous is home to Africa's largest population of wild dogs, which is a real highlight if you're lucky enough to encounter a pack.
You'll start the safaris with picnic lunches until the afternoon; you'll return to the lodge and relax for an hour, then set off on an afternoon boat safari. You'll observe the wild animals that come to drink at the water's edge and get up close to colonies of birds, hippos and crocodiles. Finally, you'll return to the lodge and relax around the fire, before dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of Selous' central game-viewing area.
