Arrival in Luxor
Steps: Louxor
Boarding the boat in Luxor. Installation in your cabins and welcome drink. Lunch on board.
Mid-afternoon departure to discover Luxor's historical treasures:
- The fabulous Karnak complex: an immense historic site, covering some 60 hectares and containing remains dating from the 20th to the 4th century B.C. Karnak is the world's largest historic religious site, dedicated to the great god Amon, patron saint of the city and of all Egypt in antiquity.
- Luxor Temple under the colors of the setting sun, with its imposing facade, colossal statues, magnificently sculpted frescoes and famous 22m-high obelisk (twin to the one on Place de la Concorde in Paris...!)
- Dinner on board. Live music in the lounge bar. Night on board
The Theban Necropolis
Steps: Louxor
Breakfast on board. Departure to discover the wonders of the Theban necropolis on the left bank of the Nile:
- The Valley of the Kings: A must-see, world-famous site, home to the eternal residences of Egypt's great pharaohs, including Ramses2, Sety1, All Ankh Amun and many others.
- Queen Hatshepsut's temple: an exceptional architectural style by contemporary standards. It consists of three superimposed terraces. The whole complex backs onto the Theban Mountain.
- Photo stop in front of the Colossi of Memnon: two giants sculpted in sandstone quarries. Each 17 m high.
- Return and lunch on board. Start sailing south. Afternoon at leisure, admiring the scenery along the banks of the Nile as it flows slowly and gently by.
- Tea service on the ship's upper deck and take the opportunity to admire the spectacular Esna Lock crossing after 60 km of navigation from Luxor. Continue sailing to Edfu, 65 km south of Esna (125 km south of Luxor)
Dinner on board. Live music in the lounge bar. Night on board.
Karnak - Boarding the Dahabey
Breakfast on board. Departure in horse-drawn carriages to visit the temple of Edfu: a prestigious site, dedicated to the god Horus, with a harmonious structure and a well-preserved ensemble.
Return to the boat and resume navigation for a further 80km to Kom Ombo in the late afternoon.
Lunch on board and afternoon relaxation, enjoying the picturesque and unusual scenery as you sail. Tea service on the boat's upper deck in the late afternoon.
On arrival at Kom Ombo, departure to visit the temple of Kom Ombo. It stands on a hill overlooking the Nile, offering a spectacular panorama. It exudes a captivating charm, with its fine columns and frescoes under the colors of the setting sun. An original and rare temple of its kind, it boasts two sanctuaries, one dedicated to Horus, the falcon god, the other to Sobek, the crocodile god.
Return to the boat and continue sailing for around 45km to Aswan.
Egyptian-style dinner on board and fancy dress party in the lounge bar. Night on board.
El-Kab - Edfou
Breakfast on board and departure to discover Aswan's joyful history and charming landscape:
- The Temple of Philae: built on the fabulous island of Agilika and dedicated to the goddess Isis. It is characterized by its romantic setting, remarkable architecture and refined frescoes.
- The High Dam: a gigantic achievement, considered at the time to be the largest dam in the world, with a spectacular panorama over the immense Lake Nasser, which was built in 1971.
- Return and lunch on board. Free afternoon in Aswan.
- Dinner on board and an evening of Nubian folklore in the lounge-bar. Night on board.
Ramadi - Bassaw
Breakfast on board. Your cabins will be vacated before noon.
Transfer to the airport
Djebel Silsileh - Kom Ombo
Steps: Kôm-Ombo
Visit the quarries of Djebel Silsileh, used to build Egypt's main temples, then sail to Kom Ombo. Visit the unique temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Sobek and Horus. Overnight on board, with a stopover in Daraw.
Daraw - Philae
Steps: Daraw
Morning visit to Daraw market, where you can discover the authenticity of local markets, then sail to Herbiab island for a walk among the fruit trees. In the afternoon, visit the temple of Philae, magnificently situated on the island of Agilika and dedicated to the goddess Isis. Last night on board, near Aswan.
End of cruise in Aswan
Steps: Assouan
After breakfast on board, it's time to say goodbye to the crew. Transfer to Aswan airport or station. For those who wish, a visit to Abu Simbel can be organized as an optional extra.
