Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international airport

Steps: Kigali

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, our dedicated Hermosa Life Tours and Travel team will meet, greet and assist you with customs. We will then transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. Enjoy the hotel's amenities and dine and overnight at Hotel 2000.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Steps: Parc National De L'Akagera

After breakfast at the hotel, departure and transfer to Akagera National Park, home of the Big 5. On the way, enjoy Rwanda's landscapes and hills. Take a game drive en route with beautiful views as you make your way to the lodge. You can expect to see animals such as elephants, giraffes and lions. On arrival at the lodge, check in, have lunch and relax.

Spend the afternoon at leisure and enjoy the lodge's amenities. In the evening, set off on a night safari where you'll be rewarded with wildlife viewing in its natural habitat. You'll have the chance to spot nocturnal wildlife not easily seen during the day. Later, you'll return to the lodge.

Day 3: Safari to Akagera National Park and transfer back to Kigali

Akagera is also known as one of the most picturesque savannahs in East Africa. After breakfast, pick up your packed lunch and visit the giraffe area to the south and the lake road up towards Birengero.

Akagera National Park is home to elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, antelope and much more. Stop for lunch at the picnic area. Take a boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you'll be rewarded with the sight of several hippos and bird species. Continue on your way back to Kigali and enjoy the sunset and local scenery, perfect for taking photos. Arrive at your hotel with relaxation, dinner and overnight at Hotel 2000.


Day 4: Visit to the city of Kigali and transfer to Nyungwe National Park

Steps: Parc National De Nyungwe

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a city tour of Kigali. Here, you'll visit the Kigali genocide memorial, the local markets of Kimironko and discover the daily activities of the local Rwandan population with a smile on your face. Continue south to Nyungwe National Park. En route, visit the King's Palace Museum in Nyanza and enjoy lunch.

Continue south-westwards through the magnificent terraced hills that characterize much of Rwanda's landscape. On arrival at the hotel, check in and enjoy the facilities. Spend the evening at leisure and relax at the lodge until dinner.


Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walkway adventures

Steps: Parc National De Nyungwe

On this day, you'll enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling trek in search of chimpanzee communities. Rwanda's chimpanzee population is thought to comprise around 400-500 individuals confined to Nyungwe National Park, including a small community in the Cyamudongo forest. Prepare to hear these exciting primates before you see them, as their hooting travels through the deep forest.

During your trek, you may also spot migratory birds, including Ross's touraco, gray-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted hawk and royal souimanga. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, continue the adventure on the canopy walkway for an even more thrilling experience. Retire and enjoy the amenities of the property. Later in the evening, relax at the lodge until dinner.


Day 6: Visit to a tea plantation and departure

Steps: Parc National De Nyungwe

On this day, you'll have an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a tea plantation experience where you'll meet the local population. After this adventure, head back to your hotel for check-out and return to Kigali. You'll have time to do some souvenir shopping before your departure.
