Stay : One-day trekking experience with the golden monkeys from Kigali
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Kigali at 4.30 am. We'll easily find the golden monkeys as most live just below the volcanic mountain and can be seen swinging from the bamboo in the forest. Golden monkeys have a short fur-covered tail on which they sit. You'll have an hour to observe them and learn about their characteristics from the experienced guide who will be traveling with you.

Day 1: Trekking to the golden monkeys
Tracking the golden monkeys begins with a briefing at the park offices at around 7:30 am, which means that we usually collect our guests from their hotels or residences and depart from Kigali early in the morning at 4:30 am for Volcanoes National Park. After the briefing, tourists may decide to hire a porter to help with extra luggage before heading to the departure point. Tracking the golden monkeys takes less time (around an hour) and is less strenuous than gorilla trekking, returning later to the starting point with a transfer back to Kigali city later in the afternoon to your hotel or airport.
