Day 1: Welcome to the Baltic States!

Steps: Vilnius

Arrival and individual discovery of the city of Vilnius for a first immersion in Lithuania.

Day 2: Vilnius and Trakai

Steps: Vilnius, Trakai

Meeting with tour leader and tour participants. Guided tour of the baroque old town with its churches, courtyards and youthful spirit: 80,000 students out of a population of 550,000. Private visit to Vilnius University, founded in 1579. Local train to Trakai, a village on the water: red-brick castle, wooden houses, gastronomy of the Karaite minority. Lithuanian evening with typical dishes and drinks.

Day 3: Vilnius to Klaipėda by train

Steps: Klaipėda

Cross the whole of Lithuania by train: 376 km of meadows, forests, villages and stations. Guided tour of the old port of Klaipeda (formerly Memel). Evening cycling tour of the Curonian Spit and dinner by the sea.

Day 4: Curonian Spit

Steps: Juodkrantė

A day on the World Heritage peninsula - by ferry, bus and on foot. Juodkrantė: fishing village turned seaside resort: amber and decorated weather vanes. Mythology of Witches' Hill and smoked fish tasting. The shifting dunes of Nida and picturesque walks along the lagoon.

Day 5: Hill of the Crosses, Rundale Castle

Steps: Rundale, Šiauliai, Colline Des Croix - Kryziu Kalnas

Train to Šiauliai and private transport to sites off the track. Hill of the Crosses - an incredible sight with thousands of crosses planted in the middle of nature. Typical lunch in a family restaurant. Visit to the Baroque castle designed by Rastrelli for the Dukes of Courland.

Day 6: Riga, the elegant metropolis of the Baltic States

Day 7: Riga on your own or an optional train trip

Steps: Rīga, Jūrmala, Ķemeri

Free day for individual discovery: unusual neighborhoods, museums, local culture.

Optional: local train trip to Kemeri National Park and Jurmala seaside resort.

Day 8: Gauja and Tartu National Park

Steps: Tartu, Parc National De Gauja

National Park nicknamed "Latvian Switzerland" - arrival by Latvian train and departure by Swiss train! Cable car ride through the deep valley: 50 shades of green. Light hiking: ancient forest, caves, castle ruins. Artisanal black bread baking ritual and typical local lunch. Evening and dinner in the university town of Tartu.

Day 9: Sights of Tartu and Estonia from the train window, arriving in Tallinn

Guided tour of the Hanseatic and academic city of Tartu. Train to Tallinn through the heart of the country. Singing Revolution: exhibition and visit to the main site. Panoramic views of everyday life through the streetcar window.
