Packing is a familiar ordeal for all travellers! The first stage of the journey, it's certainly not a pleasant one! How many times have you struggled to close a suitcase filled to the brim? How many hours have you spent wondering what to take and what to leave behind? To avoid going to the beach without a bathing suit or walking through the desert without a hat, Petit Futé has prepared a to-take list for a successful vacation in the sun!
N°10 - A beach towel for sunbathing
A must-have for lazing around! Whether you prefer pebbles or white sand, it's always useful for a good nap in the sun (never between 12 and 3pm, remember!). They come in all shapes and colors. While children may prefer a towel bearing the effigy of their favorite hero, you can opt for a fouta. This trendy Tunisian towel dries quickly and is very light: ideal for avoiding excess luggage!
N°9 - A refreshing drink for the road
Yes, we think of everything! With traffic jams or train delays, journeys can take longer than expected in summer, and rehydration is important, especially in hot weather. So stock up on cold drinks! At the airport, don't forget to throw away your bottle before the security checks on your hand luggage: we've told you time and time again, it won't get through, no matter how well hidden it is!
N° 8 - Appropriate footwear
It would never occur to you to go to the mountains in sandals! The same goes for the beach, where it would be a great shame to walk around in sneakers (we'll tolerate them on pebble beaches, all right!). Even if you're going to spend most of your time barefoot in the sand, be sure to pack one or even two pairs of flip-flops! If you're going hiking, on the other hand, you'll need walking shoes. Even in summer, they're a must for the trails...
N° 7 - A swimsuit for a dip in the sea
When you put it like that, it's obvious, but if you look too hard, you sometimes forget the most important thing: pack a swimsuit! Choose one in advance and try it on, to avoid unpleasant surprises. Ideally, you should even choose several: if the one you wore the day before hasn't finished drying, there's no need to put it on wet, you'll have a spare. One-piece, bikini, monokini, underpants or briefs, it's up to you to choose your favorite models!
No. 6 - Inflatables to entertain young and old alike
Whether you're going away with children or not, don't forget the inflatables! For the little ones, you'll need a rubber ring to get into the deep end. For older children, a mattress or inflatable boat will allow them to defy the waves while having fun! If you're less adventurous and more into lazing around, we recommend a small inflatable beach pillow... Ideal for relaxing!
No. 5 - A good book to get away from it all
If your usual schedule leaves little time for reading, make up for lost time during the vacations! A good book should always be at the bottom of your beach bag! Classic, contemporary or comic, you're spoilt for choice when it comes to escapism. If you want to know more about your vacation destination and find the best addresses, we suggest you also take along your Petit Futé guide!
No. 4 - A hat for protection
Whether you're crossing the Sahara or picnicking on a Normandy beach, a hat is an essential accessory for protection from the sun. Sunstroke happens a lot faster than you think, even when the heat is off! Whether you're wearing a Panama hat, a cap or even an umbrella, the important thing is to keep your head cool at all times! On the beach, take a parasol to shelter you from the strongest rays.
No. 3 - Beach rackets or a ball for sports in the sun
It's hard to find a lot of free time for sports on a daily basis. What could be better than combining business with pleasure? Make the most of your vacation and get active in the sun! An impromptu beach volleyball match? A little tennis with your feet in the water? Don't forget to pack your rackets, ball and ball in your suitcase: you're in for a great time with family and friends!
No. 2 - Sunglasses
At the risk of breaking them, we don't necessarily put them in the suitcase, or else with a sturdy case! But whether they're on your head or in your bag, sunglasses are essential when the weather's nice. As well as being essential accessories for a trendy look, they offer essential protection for your sun-sensitive eyes. Colors and models may vary, but the important thing is that the lenses protect your eyes from the harmful rays that tire them out so quickly.
# 1 - Sunscreen
You have only a few days to enjoy the sun and want to bark your milky complexion against golden skin? This is no reason to neglect your sunscreen! The skin is not a barrier to any UVA and UVB rays that abound. Pay attention to the areas of your body rarely discovered. By taking all these precautions, you can enjoy the beach during all your holidays! And goodbye the sunburn!
