What is the purpose of Clim'adapt?

Aurélie de Clim'Adapt: "It's a student association that aims to raise awareness of climate change by highlighting projects to adapt to global warming through a blog and social networks. »

And what are you currently doing in the Marais Poitevin?

Aurélie de Clim'Adapt: "We came to meet the technical director of the Parc naturel Régional du Marais Poitevin who presented the climate changes that the Marais wetland is facing, since it is in fact directly linked to ocean movements. »

What are the impacts of climate change on the Marais Poitevin?

Clarisse de Clim'Adapt: "The Poitevin Marsh is often subject to flooding and marine submersion caused by increasingly frequent storms. It is therefore the responsibility of the municipalities in the Poitevin Marsh to implement measures to adapt to climate change and protect the Marsh to avoid a disaster like the Xynthia storm in 2010.

We're here to relay their projects, and we've written articles about their work to disseminate information so that others can use the same techniques in similar situations. We publish summary articles on our site and we also post a lot of stories about our journey on Facebook and Instagram. »

Do you carry out actions in France only or just about everywhere?

Marco de Clim'Adapt: "We have already carried out several projects abroad except that with the health crisis we had to adapt... We were supposed to go to South-East Asia, but it fell through. We were supposed to go to South-East Asia, but we couldn't make it. So we launched this bike tour in France to meet people in charge of climate change adaptation projects all over the country

We left Vannes on the 10th of June and cycled to Marseille. We set up a program for about 2 months. We have already done 600 km and we still have about 1,000 km to go. We discovered a lot of interesting projects throughout France! »

Where do you stay during the different stages of your journey?

Marco de Clim'Adapt: "We're essentially going to sleep in a campsite. We have our tents with us and we change campsites every day. But we also often use the site Warm showers which is a free accommodation exchange system between cyclo-randonneurs that works very well in France, but also in Europe. It's very practical and it allows us to save a lot of money! »
