Ensure the maintenance of your swimming pool with an adapted equipment
The maintenance of your pool is mandatory and must be regular. Without it, your swimming water may not be very welcoming. You must therefore take action every week, or every day if the pool is very busy and often open to the wind. With the help of a landing net, you can then remove surface residues from the water. This is most often plant debris and a few insects. Equipped with an ultra-resistant net, your surface net collects all these deposits in a few minutes. Inexpensive (17.69 euros), it is robust and designed not to damage the pool liner.
It is also necessary to regularly test the chlorine content of your water. Only pH strips and chlorine test kits (10.29 euros) allow you to carry out this diagnosis. For less than 12 euros, you can measure the quality of your water with your strips. This allows you to know in real time the quantity of chlorine and to adjust it. If you want to know this concentration more precisely, there are also digital tests such as the Ohwens water pH test sold for 19.99 euros.
Opt for an efficient pump
Once the large residue has been removed, the water in your pool must be filtered. To do this, you need to connect the openings in the liner to a pump. There are different models, each offering more or less power. But it is above all the size of your pool and the volume of water contained in it that influences this choice. For example, the flow rate of the pump must be in line with the volume of water in your pool. To find this out, divide this volume by 6 (since the water must be filtered every 4 to 6 hours).
You can also choose between different types of pumps:
Sand pumps, which are the most efficient, but also the most expensive. They can be used in both above-ground and inground pools, and allow you to filter the entire volume of water quickly. The GRE sand filtration pump 8 cubic metres per hour is available at a price of 369 euros for example.
And the cartridge pumps. These are the most classic and equip most above-ground pools. There are various models with different power ratings. The Intex 1.25 m3/h model is recommended for pools up to 4 cubic metres and is sold for 64 euros. It must then be accompanied by refill cartridges, which must be replaced regularly.
Make cleaning your pool easier
To save time and the drudgery of cleaning, you can equip yourself with a pool cleaner. Intelligent and capable of working alone, it moves over the entire floor surface of your pool to remove deposits and dust. The Maytronics Dolphin E10 automatic pool cleaner, for example, is capable of cleaning a pool up to 8 metres long. Simply place it on the bottom of the water, plug it in and let it work. Its price is 619 euros.
You can also equip yourself with a hand vacuum cleaner if the budget of the automatic robot is too big for you. The Spool cleaner, sold for 63.79 euros, works in conjunction with your pool pump and has a flexible membrane to suck up all residues without ever damaging the liner. Simply take its handle and slide it over the entire surface so that no deposits are left behind.
Secure the swimming area
In order to make your pool a safe space for young and old, it is important to equip it with security systems. For example, these can be :
A secure access ladder, like the Bestway model with platform, sold for 62.99 euros for a height of 122 centimetres.
A security barrier like the Costway, made of aluminium tubes and textilene fabric. It is available from 77,99 euros and allows to isolate efficiently the pool area, blocking its access.
Or a wireless electric alarm that detects any movement of the water and starts to sound. The wireless electric Bock alarm is placed on the water and detects any falling children or animals. It is sold for 67.47 euros.
Useful little accessories
Although they are not strictly speaking indispensable, some accessories and devices are very useful in everyday life. For example, a thermometer that lets you know the temperature of your bathing water at a glance. Its low price makes it a must(9.99 euros for the floating fish thermometer, for example).
You can also pay for a foot bath. For less than 10 euros(9.50 euros for the classic blue footbath), you can avoid the accumulation of deposits and debris in the bathing water.
Finally, think of the floor mats that are more than recommended to accompany above-ground pools. They are placed under the liner to protect it from the risk of tearing when it comes into contact with plants or stones that could damage it. They are available in the form of puzzle tiles in all colours at a price of 31.88 euros.
Whatever your swimming pool (above ground, underground or semi-buried), improve your swimming comfort thanks to useful accessories and objects. The pleasure of refreshing yourself will be even greater.
