Truck transport, a whole history!
Did you know that the first truck - Cugnot's Fardier - was invented in France and first ran in 1769? It was a steam engine that did not exceed 4 km/h! The invention of the internal combustion engine in 1883 gave new perspectives. In 1898, Gottlieb Daimler built the first modern carrier. It was not until 1908 that trucks were equipped with dual wheels and 1928 that they were equipped with diesel engines. Today's trucks compete with each other in terms of efficiency and modernity. Although most traffic is regional, trucks can travel long distances. Transporters are generally specialized: removals, courier and express freight, livestock transhumance, car or log transport... Equipped with a reinforced tipper, the construction trucks supply the building sites with materials.
