This Belgian brand is owned and managed by the Union nationale interprofessionnelle des transformateurs et distributeurs de produits de l'agriculture biologique, which represents and defends the organic food and non-food sector. Thus, the label can only be affixed to cosmetic products if they comply with very precise specifications that include social, economic and ecological sustainability, in particular by respecting human rights, applying a fair price for the producer, growing raw materials organically, not testing the finished product on animals, excluding GMOs and petrochemicals and promoting recycling by all means. To benefit from the label, interested companies must notify their activity to an inspection body accredited by the regional Ministry of Agriculture. Each Eco Garanti cosmetic is biodegradable and composed of a minimum of 95% natural ingredients or natural origin and a minimum of 50% vegetable ingredients from organic farming.
