It is an association founded in 2006 that manages 5 different labels, on new construction, renovation and future construction, anticipating even stricter future regulations. The Effinergie + label, created in 2013, is awarded to buildings whose energy consumption is even lower than that of the BBC label. There are 4 other labels, improved or specific versions of the latter, including three created in 2017 to meet a demand for greater efficiency and issues related to the construction of so-called positive energy buildings. In 2019, Effinergie launched a new experimental label Effinergie Patrimoine, which aims to reconcile heritage preservation and energy rehabilitation.
