TOURISME ET DEVELOPPEMENT SOLIDAIRE
Since 1999, Tourism and Solidarity Development (TDS) has been guiding its actions towards international solidarity by supporting other solidaires associations: LVT, UNAT, the Fair Trade Platform (CCTB) and the Development information and information centre (CSIR). TDS Travel's project is to contribute sustainably to the development of village communities in the countries of the South. It therefore created a concept of community tourism organisation : " TDS host villages ", partly managed by villagers. The local population manages the tourist activity, manages the benefits and controls the entertainment on-site. TDS's role is to promote stays and provide technical support for training and advice.
What do they propose ? TDS invites small groups of travellers (maximum 12) to stay in the heart of an African village. You will live completely immersed in local life and share the activities of the villagers : market, pottery, basketry, initiation to local work, meeting with associations, local festivals. You will be staying in an authentic concession within the village, without running water or electricity but with absolute hygiene. All revenues from this tourist activity are allocated to development projects and thus benefit the entire village.
Where ? Burkina Faso, Benin, Morocco, Ecuador, Mali, Mexico, Tunisia, Greece and Egypt.
Prices and conditions. Stays from 8 to 15 days, from 940 to 2 €, including air transport.
