K 2 was created in 1962 by the brothers Bill and Don Kirschner in Washington state in the United States, convinced that the use of fiberglass would make it possible to achieve lighter skis, more resistant and nervous than those in wood or metal structures. They then adopt the name of the brand that evokes one of the highest peaks in the world (8 611 metres), the K 2, the summit of the Karakoram massif on the Sino-Pakistan border and whose ascent is considered more difficult than that of Everest. The figure 2, for its part, recalls the association of the two brothers. In 1970, the mark stood in front of Head and in 1988 she made her first snowboard. Furthermore, it has the Völkl ski brand. Recognized in the world of competition, it offers high quality skis and used by the largest athletes.
