Some examples:

Military Cemetery in Warsaw, Poland: 11 November is a holiday and is also the day of Independence, the Polish national Holiday, linking the end of the First World War and the return to freedom and unity for the Polish people. Poles lay flowers on the tomb of the unknown Soldier, while religious and official ceremonies are celebrated.

In the United States, November 11 th is called Veterans Day, and serves to remember all people who fell during wars such as the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War… Military parades, official ceremonies and military salute in cemeteries are organized. Their memory was also celebrated in the United States at Memorial Day on May 4.

In Germany: the Férié holiday on Sunday, the nearest Sunday, is dedicated to the victims of armed conflict and oppression. The armistice of 1918 itself is not celebrated.

In Commonwealth countries (Australia, Barbados, Bermuda, Canada, India, Kenya, Mauritius, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom)

It is a question of buying and carrying poppies, a poppy-shaped crest (hence the other name of Poppy Day), from the association of poppies found at the time of the Napoleonic wars pushing on the soldiers'graves. One or two minutes of silence are observed at 11 a. m. in the morning, November 11 of each year, date and time of the armistice signing in 1918.

In Canada, a ceremony is held at the Ottawa Memorial where poppies are deposited on the tomb of the unknown Soldier. Two minutes of silence were also observed in tribute to all soldiers killed during the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War, Afghanistan and Peacekeeping Missions.

The United Kingdom also observes these two minutes of silence on 11 November, but especially on the second Sunday in November, the date of Remembrance Day. Ceremonies are held in monuments to the dead, with poppies.

In India, tributes are celebrated mainly in military barracks. There are also religious services in churches such as St. Mark's Cathedral in Bangalore. In the military cemeteries of Kohima and Imphal in northeast India, remembrance celebrations are carried out by the Indian army.

On the Caribbean Island of Barbados, a ceremony is held at the cenotaph memorial in the Bridgetown Capital Square. A flurry of cannons is worn, while crowns are deposited on the monument to the dead and prayers are recited.

In Australia, services are held at 11 p. m. in war memorials and in schools in the country. The Last Post is rang by a clarion and then a minute of silence is observed. However, in recent years, this Remembrance Day Remembrance Day for victims of Armed conflict has been eclipsed by ANZAC Day on 25 April (see below).
