The Stars of Stars are the most emblematic and famous astronomy manifestation in France. They were created in 1991 and many remember the time of the broadcast on France 2 of epic evenings, particularly sponsored by the astrophysicist and extension Hubert Reeves. Today, although television no longer relays the event much, it remains very present in the first half of August, symbolically around the maximum of the Pereids meteoritic swarm on August 11. Each year the theme of these Nights changes according to astronomical or astronomical news of the moment. It is estimated that over 100,000 people are in this period to the approximately 500 events organized in France, for the greatest happiness of the eyes and our sky (the communes then make efforts to turn off unnecessary public lighting).
