LE JOUR DE LA NUIT
The main evil suffered by astronomy is the gradual disappearance of the night sky under the repeated and difficult assaults of light pollution. Indeed, the multiplication of light sources, light lights, public and domestic lighting, very often poorly adapted and overabundant, prevents the visibility of the weakest celestial stars and objects and, consequently, simply diverts us from a spectacle that is both grandiose, ancestral and free.
Also welcome this initiative, "Night of Night", which aims to raise awareness of light pollution and its disastrous effects on us, on nocturnal biodiversity and on the star sky. To this end, several approaches are proposed: night walks in natural sites throughout France (a revelation often for visitors discovering an unsuspected universe), observations of stars, or fire extinguitures (notably public) to awaken consciousness and revive stars.
