The Great Directory of Community Astronomical Sites was born from the need to bring together - at last! - all places dedicated to astronomy, in the broadest sense of the term, observatories, campsites or cottages dedicated, associations, popular gatherings, astronomy festivals, or simply precise geographical sites where amateurs meet to observe as soon as the weather is good. GRESAC calls on all good wills to update and complete it in real time. Its interface is simple but very efficient: you select the type of site you are looking for (personal site, campsite, cottage, observatory, meeting place), its region, its department... and you're done! A list of places appears, most of the time with links to corresponding websites and especially to Google Maps, which are very precise by nature. As this collaborative site is new, it takes a little time - and especially a lot of publicity and word of mouth - for it to be fully operational.
