The professional organization of the notarial profession is based on an outline defined by the Order of 2 November 1945 and the Decree of 19 December 1945. There are several structures that constitute the notaries of France. Thus, there are the 80 rooms whose competence is departmental (or, in some cases, interdepartmental), the 33 regional councils whose competence is regional, as is the Higher council of the notarial profession whose competence is national.
