The University of Lille's Faculty of Languages, Cultures and Societies is a dynamic, international part of the university. It is the result of the merger of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Letters and Civilizations and the U.F.R. Des Langues Étrangères Appliquées. The faculty is spread over two campuses, Pont de Bois in Villeneuve d'Ascq for the Languages, Letters and Foreign Civilizations streams, and Campus Gare in Roubaix for the Applied Foreign Languages streams. It has over 5,500 students, more than 200 teaching and research staff, and an administrative team. The faculty is associated with several research teams in the fields of Human and Social Sciences, Law, Economics and Management. It offers a wide range of foreign language courses, with bachelor's and master's degrees. The faculty is also open to the international scene, with numerous exchanges with foreign universities. The faculty's campuses are located in Roubaix and Villeneuve d'Ascq.
