Founded in May 2009 under the aegis of the Fondation de France, the Funeral Foundation (No. 1 of funeral services in France) is dedicated to supporting the end of life and mourning. It is not a direct initiative of projects, but it funds actions initiated by others (doctors and specialists, associations and volunteers on the ground). Among other things, it provides support to several associations such as the Jamalv Federation (until death accompanying life), UNASP (National Union of Associations for the development of palliative care), France Adot (in favour of organ donation), Living its grief, or the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross France Association, which accompanies the end of life and people in mourning. It also incorporates the environmental approach with the desire to plant as many trees as those used for the manufacture of coffins. The operation, called «A tree cut, a tree planted», is based on the Family and Rural Houses network, which makes young people alternating to different occupations in the agricultural sector.
