The main activity of real estate developers has long been housing construction. In this way, between 1965 and 2010, they produced close to 4 682 000 housing units, of which more than million, with the benefit of state aid; these figures highlight the social role of the real estate developer. Today, the activity is largely diverse. In addition to the construction of housing, aided or not assisted by the State, the real estate promoters make tourist residences and buildings intended for the leisure of residences with services and/or operations of offices, commercial and industrial premises in business real estate in the planning and construction of real estate operations in foreign countries.
