This online calculator of the economic footprint of our purchases, launched by mescoursespourlaplanete.com, allows you to measure all the impacts of your current or exceptional purchases on employment and the economy in France.
The calculator is based on the Local Footprint® tool developed by Utopies, a firm specialising in sustainable development, which makes it possible to measure the impact and repercussions of an expenditure on a territory. This tool uses Input-Output matrices as a "driver" (they won the Nobel Prize in Economics with Wassily Leontieff in 1973, modelling economic interdependence between sectors of activity) and official statistical data, such as those of INSEE in France, as "fuel".
Designed for educational purposes, this calculator designates as "Made in France" a product whose final production or assembly unit is located in France, without taking into account the total weight of the French sector in the added value of the product or the technical logic of the threshold, unlike the Origine France Garantie label.
