First step of the celebration: a war dance of the "newcomers", to demonstrate their virility and courage in the face of the responsibilities induced by their new social status. Then comes the parade in dugout canoes, in which the newcomers show that they have mastered water, a primordial element among the Abourés. The third phase, the high point, consists of dances and a popular collegiate jubilation that continues with fanfares until late at night. In April/May this festival also takes place in Moossou (Grand-Bassam).
