In Ouidah, as in the rest of the country, voodoo is celebrated on the occasion of the national holiday of this traditional religion.

Celebrated throughout the country since 1993 and made a public holiday, Ouidah is the epicenter of the national vodoun festival (Grand-Popo is also a good place to be). The city of Ouidah is then lined with numerous temples recognizable by their white flag, the color of the cult, and the faithful gather in numbers to pay homage to the deities. To attend ceremonies, you can ask the guides at the Portuguese Fort or the Sacred Forest for advice, or ask in advance at the travel agencies in Cotonou.

Une célébration du vaudou très colorée avec des rituelles et dances traditionnelles à Ouidah et dans les villages au sud du Bénin. Un excellent festival !
