Initiation and harvest festival of the Kabyé of the Binah region. Sinkaring comes from a pair of verbs: sankuu, which means "to wash one's hands, to purify oneself" and karuu, which means "to be ready to face the trials of life". During this ceremony, the young kabyé is subjected to all sorts of tests to show his strength and endurance. Once the tests are passed, the young person is integrated into the adult community. The harvest is also celebrated with songs, dances and bean fritters.
