By the light of wood fires, local artists from all over the country sing and dance for a week every two years.
Since 2005, the Festival populaire et international des musiques traditionnelles has been celebrating all kinds of music. Held every two years, alternating with Fespam, it takes place in Mfilou, in Brazzaville's 7th arrondissement. For one week, it offers a varied programme of traditional music and dance, performed by local artists from all over the country. It takes place at night, by the light of old-fashioned log fires. It's an ode to Congolese and African folk music, whose success seems to grow with each passing year.
