REGARD AUX PYGMÉES
Founded in 2001 by Sorel Eta, the Association Look to Pygmies association is a non-political organization working to establish an egalitarian dialogue between Pygmy minorities and their Bantu neighbours, majority, as well as for the promotion and preservation of Pygmy culture, threatened with extinction. Based in Brazzaville, the association published with the support of UNESCO, a CD of pygmy polyphonic music of the Ndima group called Moaka na ndima (Man and forest), representative of the songs of the Akas Pygmies of the Congo, accompanied by stringed instruments such as the arc of mbela music and the mondoumein harp-zither, which have the surprising characteristic of being in addition to instruments. The association aims to organise meetings, to promote intercultural exchange between Bantu and Pygmies, to contribute to giving them the place they deserve in a tolerant and diverse society. The association can also organize meetings with the Pygmies in their villages near Impfondo in the Likouala. The troupe also occurs in Europe, recently invited to take place in Switzerland.
