February1, Heroes' Day, is an important national holiday for Rwandans, with an official ceremony. Heroes in Rwanda are classified into three categories, namely "Imanzi" (in honor of the unknown soldiers who fought for the liberation of the country), "Imena" (known for their extraordinary and exemplary deeds at the sacrifice of their lives) and "Ingenzi" (heroes who are still alive, whose exceptional ideas and achievements have left their mark on the country).
