More than 2,000 runners participate each year in the Kigali International Peace Marathon.
The country of a thousand hills has organized the Kigali International Peace Marathon every year since its first edition in 2005. This sporting event attracts more than 2,000 runners of various nationalities (more than 20 countries represented). At a lower level, participants can also try the half-marathon (21 km) or the 10 km course (also accessible to wheelchairs). The altitude can reach 1,500 m, so it is better to train at a minimum altitude before starting the race.
