Practical information : Take a break Ghana
Timetable
Bars and cafés are generally open all day from 8 or 9 am, until 10-11 pm, or even later for some. It is worth noting that some bars in the capital (which also offer some grilled dishes) organize concerts by local bands almost every day.
Budget & Tips
Depending on where you go, a beer will cost between €1 and €2, and a cocktail can range from €3/4 to €10, or even more in some of the more upscale bars.
Age restrictions
Night bars are open to people over the age of 18. In some cases, you will be required to show identification.
What's very local
In the north of the country, in and around Tamale, a beer called Pito is made from fermented millet (or sorghum). This renowned beverage is less readily available in the south.
Smokers
It is forbidden to smoke in cafés and bars. However, most of them have terraces where you can smoke your cigarette.
