This festival, which commemorates Buddha's first sermon, is celebrated throughout the country with prayers and candlelight processions in and around the temples. If you are visiting Isaan in July, don't miss the candle festival. It marks the opening of Buddhist Lent. Each monastic community makes real sculptures of giant size, made of special wax (more resistant to heat), chiseled with really extraordinary and very excavated patterns
